This is Version 2a of Checkdrop.. if ya have the first version of this, the
config files will still work, but you will have to reset the list of users who
have dropped carrier already...
I made this program because I was tired of having users drop carrier on my
system because basicly they're too lazy to logoff properly...
For the sake of Speed, the program has broken into 2 sections.. That way, only
the sysops have to load up the whole file.
On this version I have added a few features that will let you check out the
individual users on the list, and delete them Via. the User command at the main
command line..
You can make seperate users exempt from being dropped, or whole access groups.
You can also determine how many times an access group may drop carrier on you
before the system drops carrier on them.
The Status log will keep a record of who dropped carrier on the BBS and who the
BBS droped carrier on, as well as What port and what Baud rate..
I have also added a feature which will disable the system from dropping carrier
on the users, but will still keep logs of who has done it.
It now also has a feature that will "Forgive" them for dropping carrier on the
system if they're connected at Carrier rates OVER 14.4K (this does not INCLUDE
14.4K)
I spent alot of time making the Configuration menu as self explainitory as possible
so I won't get into that here.
all you have to do copy CHECKDROP & DROPEDCAR to PFILES:/logoff (or whareever else you
want to put them), create the directory PFILES:Logoff and PFILES:Logoff/Users and
then add
{#0pfiles:Logoff/checkdrop} in line 62 of BBSTEXT, &
{#0pfiles:Logoff/dropedcar} to line 80
and CheckDrop will do all the rest.
Note: You may want to put CheckDrop somewhare in the Pfiles so that you can
access the editor easier.
IMPORTANT: you must configure what access group is considered to have
"Maintenance Access" through the (C)onfiguration editor
or else all groups will have access to it.
Account #1 will always be exempt and will always have access to the editor.
If you do not specify any accessgroups or users, the default limit for dropped
carriers is 10
Entering accounts into the "exempt user list" is done with the account numbers
only.
CheckDrop will create 4 different files:
Access - stores your seperate access group configuration
Configdata - stores a list of the exempt user account#'s
Log - Guess!
users/(UserHandle) - Keeps track of the user.
Disabled - If you have Dropcarrier Disabled
BaudDisabled - If you have the > 14.4K carrier Disabled
Recommended File structure:
Pfiles:Logoff/Checkdrop
Pfiles:logoff/Dropedcar
Pfiles:logoff/Newcheckdrop2 (Manditory)
Pfiles:logoff/users (Directory) (Manditory)
Feel free do distribute this freely. I only ask that the programs remain intact &
unchanged.
Oh ya, use this at your own risk. (General Disclamer)
This program has been Made for Amiga C-Net BBS systems and was Tested on

Leave any bugReports, Praises, whatever to GOD Joker on MidNight BBS 216-954-9235
If you Like the program and use it on your system, I'd love to hear from you.
Call it a kind of Free Registration if you wish, but drop me a line on
MidNight BBS
If you dont want to take the time than at least leave feedback at the Logon Prompt..
or EMail "mrk@harborcom.net"
If you REALLY like it.. I gladly take donations. I wont specify an amount,
just whatever you feel the program is worth. This is the first time I've
writen a program like this for CNet. If there's enough of a response, I"m sure
i'll be making more.... Leave me mail for an address, I dont feel like going
THAT public...
If their's anything else you'd like to see Cnet do, that it already doesnt do,
or there isn't 10 differnet mods out there already for it.. Let me know, maybe
I'll be able to do it!!
